On September 27, 2024, students in a classroom were instructed to explain the properties of matter and the structure of atoms as part of their bellwork activity. As part of their assignment, they were also asked to identify the three subatomic particles that make up an atom.

In related news, Tucson Unified School District announced that Megan Baum, a biology teacher at Catalina High School, has received the September Teacher Excellence Award. The district recognized her passion and commitment to education, highlighting her as an inspiration within the community.
