Chandler Hosts Global Leaders for Policing Insights

Staff Report / chandlerlocal.org

The City of Chandler hosted an international delegation of leaders from various countries, including Algeria, Australia, Chile, Denmark, Germany, Pakistan, Spain, and Sweden. The focus of the visit was to explore policing and leadership in multicultural communities.

During the event, the Chandler Police Department led a session on the role of School Resource Officers (SROs). Attendees learned how SROs foster strong relationships with students and educators, contributing to a safer and more supportive school environment. The discussion emphasized community-focused policing and the objective of protecting youth.

This meeting was part of a broader exchange program, which included visits to other agencies in Greater Phoenix to gain insights into transparency, accountability, and community engagement. The event was facilitated by Global Ties Arizona, which aims to promote citizen diplomacy.
