Arizona Task Force 1 (AZ-TF1) is currently in its fifth day of operations in Buncombe County, North Carolina, following the severe impacts of Hurricane Helene. The area is experiencing significant destruction, including widespread power outages and a complete disruption of water and essential services.

The task force is focusing its efforts along the French Broad River, where it is conducting search and rescue operations in regions heavily impacted by flooding. AZ-TF1 aims to enhance search capabilities and promote the safety of residents as they assist the local community during this difficult period.

AZ-TF1 is working in close coordination with local emergency services, state authorities, and other FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Task Forces. Their main objective is to support the recovery efforts in Asheville and Buncombe County, ensuring that assistance is provided to those in need.
