On Monday, the Pittsburgh Public Schools (PPS) hosted its first Community Schools Summit. The event brought together the Community Schools team to reflect on achievements and develop future plans. The summit focused on the theme of "Empowering Minds, Building Community."

Notable contributions were made by facilitators Joline Collins and Dr. Donnie Hale of IEL. The Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers Union provided support for the event. Key participants included district leaders, members of the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers, representatives from Homewood Children’s Village, Greater Public Schools, parents, students, teachers, principals, and staff from the mayor’s office.

The summit aimed to shape a brighter future for students, families, and the broader community.
