**Bangor Police Department Shares Insights on Local Foliage and Community Spirit**

BANGOR, ME – The Bangor Police Department (BPD) recently shared a post highlighting the beauty of autumn in Maine and promoting local culture. The message, attributed to retired officer Tim Cotton, reflects on his time managing the BPD's social media presence and the positive experiences he had while showcasing the area.

Cotton reminisced about his previous posts that included travel photos and commentary about life in Maine, noting their popularity with readers. He emphasized the vibrancy of fall foliage, encouraging residents and visitors to take a scenic drive to enjoy the seasonal colors.

In the post, Cotton assured readers that Bangor is a safe place to visit, urging them to explore local eateries and hotels. He acknowledged the reputation of Mainers as appearing grumpy, suggesting that this demeanor stems from the impending winter weather conditions.

With the autumn foliage approaching its peak, Cotton recommended that people consider making a trip to Bangor in the coming days before the colors fade and the landscape transitions to winter white. He also humorously mentioned the unavailability of lighthouse magnets in local gift shops if not purchased soon.

Cotton advised visitors to be cautious while photographing the scenery, humorously recalling his own experiences and suggesting that good photography equipment might yield better results than using a phone.

Concluding his message, Cotton reminded readers to be kind to one another and to respect each other's property.

The BPD's commitment to promoting the community continues under the stewardship of current Sgt. Jason McAmbley. For additional insights and photographs, Cotton mentioned that a link would be available in the comments of the post.
