Nautica is a shelter dog at the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter in Buffalo, New York. She was surrendered to the shelter and initially had difficulty adjusting to the unfamiliar and noisy environment. Over time, with care and patience, Nautica has become a gentle and nurturing companion.

While in foster care with a CBAS volunteer, Nautica has shown a strong bond with another dog, an 18-year-old poodle mix, and is beginning to play with a larger Shepherd. She is known to rest her head on people, and she responds to basic commands such as sit, paw, come, and stay. Nautica sleeps in her crate and has not had any accidents in the house.

Her foster parent reported that Nautica is affectionate and enjoys attention, though she is still learning proper manners and sometimes jumps up when excited. Until she develops better body awareness, it is recommended that she does not interact with small children.
