RoCo to exhibit Nicholson's "Lifelong Bills Fan" on March 6

Rochester Contemporary Art Center said it will exhibit Paul M. Nicholson’s installation "Lifelong Bills Fan" in its Lab Space on First Friday, March 6.

Nicholson lives and works in Ithaca, where he serves as the director and curator of the Handwerker Gallery at Ithaca College — though he remains a Western New York artist at heart. He holds a BFA from SUNY Fredonia, an MS from Buffalo State College, and an MFA from the University at Buffalo.

His work is interdisciplinary, producing objects, installations and public interventions. The themes in his work range from the explicitly political — such as "Caught at the Border" (2018), seen in image 3, a project that conflates environmental and agricultural protection with nationalism, border and immigration issues to explore our treatment of migrants — to the deeply personal, as is the case with his upcoming installation at RoCo.

Join us and meet @paulmnicholson at the opening reception of "Lifelong Bills Fan" on March 6, and learn more about this project on our website.
