Bernalillo County officials announced that Chair Eric Olivas and Vice-Chair Adriann Barboa presented the LGCC Joint Opioid Settlement Plan Resolution for consideration by the full Board of County Commissioners. The resolution was approved by a 5-0 vote at last night’s meeting. The plan follows successful litigation by the City of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County against pharmaceutical manufacturers and others. Under the litigation agreement, both governmental agencies will receive lump sum and ongoing annual payments totaling $150 million in Opioid Settlement Funds.
