**Columbus Police Seek Information on Fatal Shooting**

COLUMBUS, OH - On November 16, 2024, at 1:43 a.m., Columbus Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 2900 block of Dana Drive. Upon arrival, medics pronounced 44-year-old Robert “Roderick” Smith dead at the scene.

Mr. Smith was found seated in a van parked in the common area of an apartment complex when he was shot. Witnesses reported that the suspect fled the scene heading eastbound on Dana Drive. Some witnesses described the suspect as leaving on foot, while others noted they may have seen a white car involved in the escape.

Authorities are asking residents with video surveillance in the area to check their footage during the time of the incident.
