Weill Cornell Medicine investigators at Cornell University in Ithaca have discovered that two genetic variants associated with a high risk of Alzheimer’s disease can cause a damaging inflammatory response in brain immune cells. This effect is particularly pronounced in females, according to findings from a preclinical model.
