Free At-Home COVID-19 Tests Available in Utica

Staff Report / Uticalocal.org

Residents in Utica, NY, can order free at-home COVID-19 tests for the third year in a row. The program, effective September 30, 2023, allows households to request up to four tests, which will be shipped by USPS.

Individuals interested in obtaining the tests can place their orders starting today at [this link](https://special.usps.com/testkits/). The shipping of tests will begin on September 30th, ahead of the upcoming respiratory virus season.

Current data from the CDC indicates that the KP.3.1.1 variant, an offshoot of the omicron variant, is currently the most prevalent in the U.S., accounting for approximately 52.7% of COVID-19 cases.

If residents require assistance with ordering the tests, they are encouraged to reach out for help. Additionally, it is important to note that tests with extended expiration dates may still be usable after the date printed on the box.
