The Utica Public Library recently hosted a two-day event featuring author Jacqueline Woodson, which was a great success. The first day included an intimate evening with Woodson in the Gallery at the Library, where she shared insights about her personal history and writing process. Humanities Professor Sam McManus from MVCC asked thought-provoking questions that sparked engaging discussions.

The following day, Jacqueline Woodson gave a dynamic presentation to over 1,500 5th and 6th graders from the Utica City School District at Mohawk Valley Community College. The students were highly engaged and asked insightful questions, showing their appreciation for the author.

The event was made possible with support from over 35 individuals and organizations, including M&T Bank/ Partners Trust Bank Charitable Fund, MVCC, UCSD, Barnes and Noble, Hummel's Office Plus, and Munson. The collaborative effort made the event successful and provided a valuable experience for the community. The Library expressed gratitude for the support and hopes to host similar events in the future.
